Homes across the Denver metro deal with two stubborn problems: fine dust carried in on dry winds, and hard water that leaves white spots on faucets, shower glass, and dishes. Neither one goes away, but both are easy to manage with the right routine.
For dust, work top to bottom. Ceiling fans, vents, and the tops of door frames first, then shelves and furniture, then floors last. Use a damp microfiber cloth instead of a feather duster, which mostly moves dust into the air. After a windy week, wipe window sills and vacuum the tracks before the grit gets ground in.
For hard water, speed matters more than strength. Squeegee shower glass after each use and wipe faucets dry, and mineral spots never get the chance to bond. For build-up that's already there, a white vinegar solution left to sit for ten minutes loosens it far better than scrubbing harder. Avoid vinegar on natural stone like marble or travertine.
If keeping up feels like a second job, a biweekly cleaning schedule handles both before they build up, and a deep clean once or twice a year takes care of anything that slips through.
